A pretty common hack, and fairly easy to pull off, too. I'm surprised I didnt't even try this until 8 after getting this DVD player.

So anyway, after some playing with the remote, one gets into the programming screen.

Then, after you play around in there for a bit, you no longer get "ERROR" when you insert a VCD. Instead you get a nice purty menu that you threw together in a few seconds to test a theory.

Now if I just had some VCDs that I wanted to watch. Oh well, it was fun hacking anyway!
