Basic Secure Hosting is the low-cost method of offering a web site that ensures an encrypted data connection to the visitor using SSL (Secure Socket Layer).
Basic Secure Hosting does not require a costly digital certificate or domain name. Instead, your pages are considered part of drcheap.com, and thus utilize our SSL server certificate. Think of it as the secure form of Non-Virtual Hosting.
Price: $5.00 per month
Enhanced Secure Hosting option helps businesses accept sensitive information on the Internet using a secure, encrypted SSL (Secure Socket Layer) channel. Unlike the Basic option, Enhanced Secure Hosting helps you maintain the professional image of your Virtual Hosting by keeping the secure portion of your site within your own domain. This also helps your customers know that the information they send is going to your company.
To operate a site using encryption over SSL, it is required that your site be certified with a major certificate authority (CA). The CA provides a 3rd party verification that your site is really the site that it claims to be.
Price: $10.00 per month
Enhanced Secure Hosting requires that you purchase an SSL Server Certificate.
SSL Server Certificates hold information about web-servers, the owners of the certificates, the server to which the certificate was sold, when it was issued, and when it expires. They facilitate the identification process that occurs automatically before a secure transmission can begin. No matter who you have your secure web site hosted with, you are required to obtain an SSL Server Certificate.
As a hosting provider, we get a discount on the certificate pricing, and are passing along savings to you. We will even take care of the initial certificate ordering process, and all server setup once issued.
Price: $190.00 for the first year, $150.00 per year after that.
